Certificate of Appreciation, "For Nurturing Romanian Political Science," Romanian Society of Political Science, at the Third Annual Meeting, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, October 2002.  I act as international liaison for the Romanian Society of Political Science, which kindly presents the Best Paper award at its annual meetings in my name.

Council for International Exchange of Scholars, Fulbright Lectureship, Centre for Comparative Welfare State Studies, Department of Economics, Politics and Public Administration, Aalborg University, Denmark, Spring 2001. Duties included lectures to undergraduate and MA students and a special short-course on research methods for Ph.D. students.

Visiting Professor, Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration, Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Fall 2001. Duties included Introduction to Politics lectures to the entire first year class (450 students) and a seminar on research methods for the MA students.

Invited Short-Course, "The Political System and Presidential Elections in the United States," Center for the Study of the United States, University of Havana, Cuba, April 2000.

Senior Consultant, Social Science Curriculum Development Program, sponsored by the USIA, administered by IREX and the American Council of Learned Societies. Faculty of Political Science, Public Administration, and Journalism, Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, 1996 - 1999. Duties included periodic visits to the Faculty in Romania; meetings in New Orleans and Washington, DC to plan SSCD efforts and evaluate on-going projects; regular communications with IREX/ACLS administrators and with professors in Romania regarding progress; adviser and reviewer regarding research grant proposals, faculty development trips to the U.S., and applications for U.S. visitors to Romania; head of on-site grant evaluation team and chief author of evaluation report.

Council for International Exchange of Scholars, Fulbright Lectureship, Department of Political Science, Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Spring 1995. Duties included teaching research methods to the university's first graduating class in Political Science.
